News and Announcements
Dear Oakridge Soccer Club families,
The last 8 weeks has been an incredibly difficult time for everyone with our world literally turned upside down in every sense of the word. We did not expect back in late February when we were sizing for uniforms that soccer would be put on hiatus indefinitely. To this day, even with the economy slowly coming back to life with strict social distancing requirements in place, we, as a society, are nowhere near ready to get back to what life use to be like.
Over the course of the last 4-6 weeks, the Oakridge Soccer Club (OSC) Executive Board has been meeting regularly to review the landscape based on the information that has been shared with us by the federal government, provincial government, Canada Soccer, Ontario Soccer (OS), Elgin Middlesex Soccer Association (EMSA), the various leagues we participate in, as well feedback from our volunteers. OS Player Registration dates continue to be pushed back, tournaments cancelled, and growing uncertainty from our community are all factors that impact how we operate as a community based, not for profit, competitive sports organization.
Therefore, after much discussion and in the best interests of our players, families, volunteers and our community, the Oakridge Soccer Club has made the decision to cancel the Summer 2020 Outdoor Season, effective immediately for all OSC registered players and volunteers.
As an Executive Board, we collectively believe that we cannot participate in team/group based sports with so many unknowns and it would not be socially responsible to expose our players & volunteers to any potential health risks. The liability is far too great and not worth the potential risk. While disappointing, the health & safety of our players & volunteers is first and foremost.
Full refunds will be issued to all registered players by a credit back to the credit card used for registration. Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing.
We sincerely hope that we will be able to get back on the field this fall/winter.

They’re a team in the truest sense of the word. Despite the fact that the majority of team members on the Oakridge Fire U9 Boys soccer squad hadn’t played together prior to this season, they quickly developed an overall sense of comradery, and as a result play as a unit, all working towards the same goals.
“The kids genuinely enjoy each other’s company, and it shows on the field with their teamwork, effort, and willingness to help each other,” says Anthony Strangio, the Oakridge Fire U9’s head coach.

We are expecting everyone there this Thursday and sat as we have a game next Thursday with no practice in between. One last reminder you need to ensure your there 30 minutes before the games – the very least 15 minutes before.
